The centre panel rises and then keeps going — the sides flare outward into two swept wings in espresso brown leather, curving away from the mattress like the back of a wing chair scaled up. The effect is enclosure: sit up in bed and the shape gathers around you rather than stopping flat at your shoulders.
Dark leather takes the drama down a register. It is theatrical in silhouette and sober in colour, which is a difficult balance for a bed this size to strike.
