Built like a pagoda — a small crown at the top, then two progressively broader skirts stepping outwards beneath it. Each tier throws its own ring of light and its own ring of shadow, which stacks into something far more three-dimensional than a single shade manages.
It is the largest and most decorative rattan piece we do, and it wants height. Over a dining table in a room with a good ceiling it is the whole scheme; in a low room it will feel like too much.
