A bare bulb, a good glaze, and nothing else asked of it.
The body is glazed ceramic in a pale champagne gold — closer to warm sand than to metal, with just enough sheen to pick up the light from the bulb above it. There is no shade. A vintage globe sits exposed on the neck, so the filament is part of the design rather than something to be hidden.
Light output is low and amber, which makes this a lamp for winding down rather than for reading. It is scaled for a bedside table, where it will sit happily against patterned bedding without competing.
