The reverse of the Eclipse: dark all around, pale in the middle, with a diamond rather than a round medallion at the centre. The patchwork construction gives the diamond's edges a stepped, hand-built quality — it is clearly drawn but nothing about it is machine-precise.
The dark ground hides a great deal, which makes this one of the more practical choices for a hallway, a dining room or anywhere with real traffic. The pale diamond keeps it from feeling heavy.
