The headboard is a single thick plank of walnut with its corners and top edge rolled into a gentle curve, so the grain runs uninterrupted across the width with nothing applied to it — no fabric, no inlay, no hardware. All the character comes from the timber and the radius on the edge.
It sits on a low base that is set back underneath, which leaves a shadow gap at floor level and makes the whole bed appear to float. Warm, heavy, and unusually calm.
