Instead of an upright panel, one long cushion runs the width of the bed in sand-coloured upholstery, rolled and held at the back edge. It gives something to lean against without the visual height of a conventional headboard, so the bed keeps a low, horizontal line all the way across.
Slim tapered legs lift it just clear of the floor. In a bright room with low windows this is the shape that does not interrupt the light.
