Three red cylinders on a black slab, and nothing else.
In place of a headboard there are three red bolster cushions lined up along the back edge, each a plain cylinder, resting against a platform that sits very low to the floor in matt black. The red is the only colour in the piece and it is used sparingly enough to land like punctuation rather than decoration.
Against a stark white wall the contrast does all the work. This one rewards an empty room and resents a busy one.
