A traditional bobbin frame, painted a colour tradition would never have allowed.
The turning is proper and old-fashioned — stacked spools running down every leg and along the stretchers that tie them together — but the glossy tangerine finish drags the whole thing firmly into the present. The result is a narrow, open frame that looks far lighter than the amount of detail in it suggests.
A console lives or dies on where you put it, and this one wants a hallway: somewhere it can hold keys, post and a tray while being the first thing anyone sees. It also works behind seating or on a bare wall in a room that needs warming up.
