A crisp white plane held up by four pieces of serious turning.
The legs are the event here — deeply worked bobbins, stacked and repeated down their full length in matte black, so heavy in detail that they read almost as columns. Above them the long rectangular top is completely plain and bright white, and that flat calm is exactly what stops the whole thing tipping into pastiche.
It seats a proper number of people and takes a run of mismatched chairs happily, since the table has already made the decision about what the room looks like. In a plain dining room it is the only piece you need to get right.
