An archway in glazed ceramic, with a bulb hung inside it like a doorway lantern.
The whole arch is hand-glazed in a black and cream checkerboard, so the squares stretch and narrow as they follow the curve. Because the vintage-style bulb hangs exposed within the opening, the light is warm and frankly a little theatrical, throwing the pattern into relief.
It asks for a surface where it can be seen from the front — a console, a mantelpiece, the end of a long sideboard — rather than being tucked in beside an armchair.
