The headboard is the whole idea here — a high, generous arch upholstered in cream, cut clean against the deep navy of the base beneath it. The two-tone split gives the bed a horizon line, and the curved top edge borrows from architecture, echoing a doorway or a window reveal rather than a piece of furniture.
Against panelling or a dark wall the arch reads almost like an alcove. It wants to be seen straight on, centred, with space either side.
