The headboard is where the two materials meet and argue pleasantly. A softly curved panel of navy upholstery is inset between solid oak posts that have been turned on a lathe, so the crisp arc of the fabric plays against the rounded, slightly traditional profile of the timber.
It lands somewhere between a farmhouse bed and a contemporary one, which makes it unusually easy to place — the oak keeps it warm, the navy keeps it from looking rustic.
